Project Design Engineer ()
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing and interpreting product specifications and vehicle requirements
- Understand and summarize technical specifications and requirements for vehicle features like adaptive cruise control, anti-lock braking system, exterior mirrors, brakes, powertrain, and seats as a precursor to designing solutions
- Design appropriate solutions, including engineering and design
- Design and integrate solutions after analyzing engineering data for vehicle features, systems and commodities to add value in reaching the end state of each project
- Responsible for the implementation and piloting solutions for client programs/models
- Develop and conduct evaluations, updates and modifications to the Teamcenter configurations
- Develop process maps for evaluation of the Teamcenter configurations and leverage the evaluation results to make updates and modifications
- Perform load and test scalability studies, and develop content for product structure
- Perform load and test scalability studies on product structures for the brake system, exterior mirrors, seats, powertrain and lower body, and extending to the full vehicle, to check whether the system/tool can support the future state/end goal
- Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, continuous improvement, Minitab, Visio, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, 5S, and 8D to perform duties
- Integrate new technology and capabilities into existing vehicle systems methods
- Analyze and study the existing engineering methods/data as part of the GPDS process for different groups along with new technologies and functionalities that can help improve the efficiency of the existing methods/processes
- Lead projects, and develop reports and documentation, lead multiple project deliverables and timelines while writing and developing reports, documentations and demonstrations within the tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- Master's Degree in Automotive Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree)
- Training: None
- Experience: Six (6) months in the position above, as an Application Engineer, as a Product Engineer, or in a related occupation
- Other Requirements: Experience must include six (6) months’ use of the following: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, continuous improvement, Minitab, Visio, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, 5S, and 8D
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.

- Northville, MI and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US;
- Salary: $84,302 per year
