Key engagements at North American, Japanese OEMs & Automotive Tier 1 suppliers are listed below:

CAE Data Management Strategy
Automotive NA OEM
Led the development & implementation of the CAE Data Management Strategy, configuring Siemens’ Team Center Simulation module, in conjunction with significant business process improvements. The project involved mapping of the current process, identifying opportunities for incremental efficiencies and integrating CAE Model Build & Solvers into the final deployed solution.  This industry-first, multi-year implementation impacting 1000 CAE engineers globally produced 20% time savings per CAE analysis cycle & full traceability of simulation to product designs.

Global Verification Strategy
Automotive NA OEM
Developed the Global Verification Strategy that assessed the impact of macro-level external factors like Globalization, Sustainability and Mobility on Product Verification within a NA OEM; articulated a joint Business-IT roadmap for sustained process improvements thru the use of Co-creation, data accessibility and traceability.  The internal white paper published has provided the value proposition to a series of Product Development-IT joing initiatives.

PD Engineering Computing Strategy
Automotive NA OEM
Developed the Engineering Computing Strategy for NA OEM Product Development, a framework to align business needs to technology developments. The strategy incorporated requirements focusing on 4 critical areas of engineering workstation usage:
  1. Visualization
  2. Computation
  3. Storage and
  4. Collaboration
The implementation involved the migration of all EWS from Unix to Windows with an annual spend of over $50M in Workstations, High Performance Computing and Storage hardware for over 10,000 Designers & Engineers.

Digital Product Creation Strategy
Automotive NA OEM
Developed the Digital Product Development Process focusing on Process-Information-Technology Alignment, leveraging both the macro- & micro- level integration of
  • Business Process Enablers (Lean Principles, Value Stream Mapping & Deliverables/Metrics)
    with
  • Technology Strategy (PLM Architecture, Master Data Management and Data/ Information flows)
The new Product Development Process, first implemented in 2006, reduced PD cycle times by 12 months and is still the  mainstream PD process.

Virtual Product Program
Automotive Japanese OEM
Led the PLM work-stream for CAx Strategy at Japanese OEM via a Roland Burger Engagement
