Product Design Engineer (Job Code:1003)
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing alignment use cases to include all SW-impacting features and software configurations driven by network architecture and ECU variants
- Develop conceptual and strategic documentation and obtain feedback and/or concurrence; document the business use cases and UI requirements for IT engagement
- Deep interaction with IT during development and final testing of functionality; finalize the integrated strategy for Function Library to work with MagicDraw, FEDE, and VSEM; conceptualize and enable data alignment and synchronization between FEDE, VSEM, and PDO with PCA
- Document the value proposition and potential gaps that need to be addressed; develop the documentation and executive presentations for senior leadership reviews
- Provide strategic direction and input for naming convention; responsible for VIN-level BoF and application/OS implementation for features; strategize approaches to expand the BoF to the VIN-level; implement feature management workflows and effectivity to enable updates driven by application updates based on MY changes and product variants, including regional variances
- Utilize CAD, product development, BOM, Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, PLM Suite, WERS, and PDO to perform duties
- Analyze current process and identify data flows across various functions; analyze engineering data to integrate the engineering workflow process to improve engineering efficiency; confirm seamless and complete data synchronization and/or migration with legacy systems
- Manage the data mapping project, working in conjunction with client’s IT
- Develop and document the standardized methods to support CAD BOM and PLM solutions for product development; conceptualize and implement solutions to support reusability and automation of BOM
- Generate the mapping table for CAD-BOM data for all new FEDE BOM programs
- Document the metrics and identify opportunities to improve the quality of BOM-CAD alignment and/or consumption; implement the module strategy for FEDE
- Implement the modules on vehicle programs including deep engagement with module owners, client leadership, and Senior PD leadership; develop ICA utilities to facilitate requirements to the IT team; and establish and support module features and data governance
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree)
- Training: None
- Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Design Engineer, as a Product Modeler, or in a related occupation
- Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years’ use of all the following: CAD, product development, BOM, Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, PLM Suite, WERS, and PDO.
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.

- Salary: $91,229 per year
